What is CMM?
CMM (Capability Maturity Model) is a framework used to develop and refine an organization’s software development process. It was developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University to provide organizations with essential elements of effective processes, focusing on improving their performance and quality.

Levels of CMM:
Initial (Level 1): Processes are unpredictable, poorly controlled, and reactive.
Repeatable (Level 2): Basic project management processes are established to track cost, schedule, and functionality.
Defined (Level 3): The organization’s processes are documented, standardized, and integrated into an organizational standard.
Managed (Level 4): Detailed measures of the process and product quality are collected, and the process is quantitatively understood and controlled.
Optimizing (Level 5): The focus is on continuous process improvement through both incremental and innovative changes.
CMM helps organizations improve their software development capability and ensure better software quality over time.

List of Software Tools for CMM Implementation:
JIRA: A widely used project management tool, it helps in tracking, managing, and reporting on software development projects.

Trello: A lightweight project management tool that can be adapted for tracking CMM-related processes.

HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management): Helps manage requirements, tests, and development progress to ensure compliance with CMMI standards.

IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management: A comprehensive platform for managing the entire software development lifecycle, including processes aligned with CMM.

VersionOne: Agile project management software with features for tracking CMM-level processes, enabling continuous improvement.

ServiceNow ITBM: Helps organizations manage project portfolios and processes, aligned with CMM levels, particularly for risk management and optimization.

Confluence: A collaboration tool that allows teams to create, share, and manage processes and documentation aligned with CMM levels.

These tools are useful in managing and refining processes at various levels of the CMM framework.
